A little spot to publish all my finished objects and talk about them in a little bit more detail!
I first became acquainted with fiber arts when I learned to crochet. My MIL is always doing these crocheted hangers. They fill my closets – a monument to Red Heart Super Saver. While we were visiting I grabbed a hook and started to experiment, though I wasn’t touching a hanger with a 10 foot poll.
While pregnant with my daughter, we decided to cloth diaper. There were knit longies and soakers all over the place online but their price was out of our reach. I thought – surely I can do this for less! I went to a LYS where they were terribly offended that I would use their precious wool to make something my child was going to pee on at some point by way of the diaper it was covering. However, one really nice person directed me to Stitch and Bitch. I clung to that book as I tried to make those little bumps and v’s…but somewhere, somehow I became a combination knitter. It works for me! I haven’t made that many longies but I sure love to knit!
